Hudson Valley Activities
The variety of activities available to guests at the Hudson View House can’t all be captured here - but suffice to say, there is more to do in the immediate area than hours in the day.
Hiking: Whether you’re excited to hit the infamous Breakneck Ridge trail, hike Mount Beacon to the fire tower, or take a more leisurely stroll through the West Point Foundry Preserve - a great walk/hike of every level is accessible within 5 - 10 minutes of the Hudson View House.
Water Sports: You can’t help but want to spend time on the water when staying at the Hudson View House. Thankfully there are numerous options available only minutes from the house - from kayaking to sailing, to simply lounging in the grass by the river at Garrison’s Landing or Cold Spring’s water front park.
Culture: You can’t plan a visit to the Hudson Valley House without considering booking ticket for one of Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival’s amazing performances, or visiting museums like Dia: Beacon, Magazzino, or the Garrison Art Center. And of course - if you’re interested in mindfulness, you simply must check out the programming at The Garrison Institute.
Shopping: Main Street Cold Spring and Beacon both offer excellent local shopping experiences with tons of variety from homeware stores like Burkelman and Pink Olive to personal clothing/gear shopping favorites like Old Souls, Cold Spring General Store, or Doucette. And of course, antiques and art are two of the most popular purchases that our guests make - make sure to check out Gallery 66, the Buster Levi Gallery, and Cold Spring Antiques Vault.
Farm To Table - At Your Table
The Hudson Valley House is in close proximity to many bountiful farms up and down the Hudson River Valley. What better way to celebrate the expansive view of the Hudson River than sitting down to a chef-prepared Farm To Table meal in the outdoor dining table (screens optional to ensure the bugs don’t enjoy your meal too).
Upon special request, we can help coordinate either a catered, or on-site-prepared meal to suit you and your guests preferences and tastes. Drawing from the bountiful harvests of the Hudson Valley from organic farms like Glynwood, Fishkill Farms, or Fable you simply can’t go wrong. Suffice to say this the ultimate way to enjoy an evening at the Hudson View House. Pricing upon request.
